Begun in July of 2004, this release was originally intended to pay homage to the enigma of Coil and explore some of the untapped themes Coil had created. It was due to be a collaborative collection of music gathered by Justin of Elseproduct and Robert from Ford Proco. The original title was due to be called "Never" and musicians were encouraged to create expansions on ideas Coil brought up, but then never brought to light. Almost all tracks were collected by November of 2004, when Coil suddenly and harshly came to and end. The entire project was put on hold for 2 months while Justin and Robert debating their next move. "Never" did indeed seem a very long time now and the release was almost too painful to continue. Various individuals encouraged the release along. Many delays later and the Elseproduct version is finally seeing the light of day with completely exclusive material.

Sol Invictus & Tony Wakefield Pre-orders

Tony Wakeford always presents a brilliant mix between apocalyptic folk, neo-classical orchestrations and experimental compositions. We expect these five titles from Tony with Sol Invictus plus collaborations as Duo Noir and with Andrew Liles and Matt Howden, respectively, in stock shortly.

The Sol Invictus rarities collection, The Angel, and the 2005's The Devil's Steed are returning at a nicer price. This marks the first time we'll be receiving 2003's HOWDEN / WAKEFORD collaboration Wormwood. Tony Wakeford and Matt Howden delivered 17 Wakeford classics as DUO NOIR, recorded live this past March in Marseilles. We'll also be receiving the brand new collaboration between Wakeford and electronic composer Andrew Liles called Cups in the Cupboard.

Part 3 in the Sol Invictus Archive series, and limited to just 1000 copies, "The Angel" contains thirteen unreleased tracks, demos and alternate versions of material from the last 15 years of Tony Wakeford's impressive career. Also included is an unreleased duet with Joe Budenholzer of Backworld ("In the Wake of the Wolf").

A nod back to their more earthy folk sound. On this release, Tony Wakeford (guitar, voice, keyboards) is supported by Eric Roger (aka Seven Pines; trumpet, recorder, vocals), Gary Parsons (guitar, percussion, vocals), Karl Blake (aka Shock-Headed Peters; bass), Maria Vellanz (violin), Renee Rosen (violin). As well as the usual happy Tony Wakeford songs, there are two traditional songs getting the Sol Invictus treatment, plus a Philip Larkin's poem "The North Ship" becomes the basis for a track. Artwork is by Tor Lundvall. First Limited edition in 6 panel Digipak!

Beautifully ethereal, otherworldly and contemplative, "Breath of Nigh" was recorded as a live soundtrack for an exhibition of paintings by EK Huckaby. This limited release features a collaboration between Diana Obscura (cellist and vocalist) and Damon Young (Changelings). Diana is known for creating sparse, powerful, and evocative songs for cello and voice, which are influenced by early and avant classical music. She has also played and recorded with The Living Jarboe (SWANS), Joe Budenholzer of Backworld, and the neo-classic/medieval trio Aphelion. Best known for his work with the Changelings, Damon Young brings into this disc a mix of guitar, electronic atmospheres, and field recordings, which range from Tibetan prayer wheels to EVPs collected in Atlanta cemeteries.
